  • Mrs E Buckley (Staff)

I am a staff Governor representing the High School. I have been teaching at Hessle High School for 11 years and during my time held various posts including Subject Leader, Year Leader and currently Senior Student Support Manager. • Mr M Craven (Finance)

    Board of Directors

I have recently stepped down from full time employment, after 25 years with a leading international food ingredients business. During this time, my role has encompassed all aspects of strategic and day to day business management, being responsible for 3 UK sites, and assisting with Group projects around the world, most recently a new build in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Although I am still retained to carry out some consultancy work, primarily around sustainable trading initiatives, this now allows me time to work on other areas of interest.
I have lived in the area for nearly 30 years and have 3 children, all of whom have enjoyed the privilege of growing up and being educated in East Yorkshire. I now have the opportunity to 'put something back' and look forward to serving on the Board of Directors.

I have had thirty three years of teaching experience in education across secondary, middle school and primary phases, retiring from primary headship in 2013. My three children attended Hessle High, as it was then known, and the school provided them all with successful educational routes through to their chosen careers. The two eldest both became doctors, whilst the youngest is studying dentistry at Newcastle University. As a trustee I feel that I can “give something back” to the system that supported my children, and that I worked within across so many years. The shape and nature of society is constantly reformed and refreshed by successive generations, as children individually and collectively develop into adults. I believe that we owe all children the clearest opportunities to make both themselves and their future world the best that they can be.
