WEEK 4 - Friday 1 October 2021
As I write this blog, I am listening to the screams of laughter echoing from the KS1 playground. The children are so excited about the new equipment and markings on the playground and are thoroughly enjoying their new environment (even in the rain!). I would also like to say thank you for the dress up clothes that have been donated as the children love becoming their favourite superhero or Disney character at lunchtime - keep them coming as we can never have too many dress up costumes!
We have had our first sporting competition this week with the football trials at Wolfreton School. It is great to see all the schools back together and the Year 6 team did really well winning the tournament and representing Penshurst brilliantly. We are also booking lots of trips and visits for the upcoming year and these kick off with the imminent trips to London for Year 5 and 6. Young Voices will require a deposit to be paid via ParentPay or PayPoint.
On Thursday 7 October, we are holding a special school lunch to celebrate Hull Fair and all things Hull! Fish fingers and doughnuts are on the menu and I’m sure this will be a popular choice. On the same day we will be hosting school photos. These will be individual photos. If your child is not in FS1 that day, they can be brought into school at 8.30am to have their photo first and then be taken home.
I just need to raise a couple of points to finish off. We have received a couple of complaints from residents regarding our parents parking across their driveways. It is really important that we respect our local community so please park carefully on the school run.
In addition to this, I have also received some complaints about use of inappropriate language by parents whilst on the school site. Again I would ask that you are respectful at all times and be mindful that there are children around.
Thank you for your cooperation.
