WEEK 36 - Friday 1 July 2022
This week has been Wellbeing Week (not that this is normally absent from school!) and we have thoroughly enjoyed exploring our personal development curriculum in more detail than we get to do in a normal formal week of learning.
It has been a pleasure to see all pupils from Nursery to Year 6 being taught by different teachers and using the outside area to its full potential. Nursery yoga was a highlight! There have been a number of different activities throughout the week which the children have accessed on a rotation to ensure they participate in all events.
The Forest activities and baking appear to have been particularly well received by all and I must say that I enjoyed the gifts of rocky road on a daily basis - thanks Miss Loveridge. There has also been arts and crafts, mindfulness activities, sporting events, team building, allotment work and challenging negative thoughts workshops. All of the activities planned are linked to areas of our PSHE/RSE curriculum and are differentiated for each year group.
Teachers have really enjoyed teaching other year groups during the week and have reported that behaviour has been exceptional. We concluded the week with a whole school celebration of music, film and play in a Golden Time extravaganza. We will definitely keep this ‘wellbeing’ week on the agenda for next year and we are already looking at ways we can invite guests in to widen the experiences we can offer.
Just a reminder that Reception and Year 6 have their height and weight check next week - you were previously sent a link to the company to opt out if you wanted to. Please contact the office if you have any concerns. Tonight is the final of the Year 5/6 girls football and we wish them all the luck in the world - we are so proud of how well they have done already.
Enjoy your weekend.
