The Greenpower Education Trust, is a registered charity, they have developed the project to provide young people with an exciting, real life challenge as a way of sparking an interest in engineering with a hope it will help address the serious skills gap the UK faces in this crucial business sector.
Transition week for our new Year 7 students was a huge success and the student feedback indicates that students not only enjoyed the week, but have left feeling like they are already a part of The Hessle Academy and are really looking forward to returning in September.
We had our first challenge day of the school year on Tuesday 20 September. We welcomed parents, carers and friends to celebrate the Jewish New Year ‘Rosh Hashanah’ and share the amazing work which the children do in school.
On Saturday 10th September 2016, after years of planning and construction, Hessle High School and Sixth Form College’s new £18.6m flagship building was officially opened in front of students, staff, parents and guests from the local community.
The Hessle Academy is once again celebrating today after Sixth Form Students not only achieved the best A Level results in the school’s history last week but Hessle High School students have also beaten 2015’s record GCSE results.
Building on 2015’s success, Hessle Sixth Form students are celebrating today as they have stepped up to the challenge set by Sarah Young, Hessle Federation Executive Headteacher, and eclipsed last year’s record by producing the best ever A Level results in the history of the school.
