    Pastoral Care

    Our pastoral system is carefully designed so that every young person feels supported, safe and ready to succeed.

    Each day begins with a tutor period. These daily sessions give students a consistent point of contact with their tutor, helping them to feel connected, supported and guided in living out our core values. Tutors play a key role in monitoring progress, encouraging positive attitudes and fostering a strong sense of belonging within the school community. 

    At Hessle, each year group benefits from a dedicated Head of Year and an Assistant Head of Year. This dual support system ensures that every student is known, cared for and challenged – providing tailored pastoral care alongside focused academic guidance to help them thrive both personally and academically.
