How to Get Here

On foot

You can walk to the school from most areas of Hessle in 20 minutes. Many journeys to the school will take considerably less time and on the map below you will see the area covered where it is approximately a 15 minute walk or less. There are school crossing patrols at the junction of First Lane/Winthorpe Road, and Boothferry Road/Astral Close. Think - how long does it take you to find a parking space.

By bicycle/scooter

There is secure, covered, cycle storage and scooter storage at the school.

By bus

There are no dedicated school buses serving Penshurst Primary School, however, operators do provide services through the catchment area. Check on the timetable to see if there is a bus suitable for you. For information on school transport call 01482 395444, or email school.transport@eastriding.gov.uk - for local bus times call BusLine 01482 59 29 29 or use the website www.yorkshiretravel.net

By car

Parents are encouraged not to park within the school grounds. Please keep the school entrance clear. It is illegal to stop on the zigzag lines near the school to drop off your child. If there are fewer cars near the school entrances there is more likelihood that children will be visible when crossing the road and therefore safer.

Car share

The East Riding Council has a Carshare Scheme (www.eastridingcarshare.com), which is there to help anyone wishing to share the cost of travelling. The scheme is free to use and your personal details are secure. There is no obligation to share once you have joined. Just look and see if anyone is going your way. This Car Share scheme is only suitable for parents/carers who escort their child/children to/from school.
