WEEK 30 - Friday 22 May 2026

Dear Parents and carers,

Congratulations to our Year 7 rugby team who won the East Riding Cup by 42 – 6. We are incredibly proud of them so a huge thanks to those parents whose children were involved, and to Mr Compton who runs the team. We will be holding a celebratory lunch for them after half-term.

Year 13 leavers’ assembly went exceptionally well. They have been a real credit to the school and so we wish them well and are confident they will go on to do great things.

As you know we had our first social time lockdown walk thru and I’m pleased to say that the students responded very well. It is a complex format as there are a large number of scenarios, however the important thing is that students are reminded of the alarm and now know where to go, a decision that is based on their location when the alarm goes. As always, we are reviewing our procedures for the next practice in the new academic year.

Our last-minute decision to hold a non-uniform day for year 11 and provide them with pizza and an extended lunch was to say thank you to them, and indeed you, as parents. They have been simply incredible in their approach to the exams and have demonstrated commitment and resilience.

Today I had a great end to the half-term by being a judge in the Year 9 Enterprise Day competition. It was a real pleasure to be part of the judging team to grade the enterprise projects. Congratulations to Thrifted, who won the competition.  Jet Set Nights to Escape came second, and Groovy, Movie Box came third.

Below is the link to request the use of our SLT surgery which is for parents and carers who feel that a complaint or issue already raised has not been dealt with quickly enough.

Have a great, and hopefully sunny, half-term.
