Parent Feedback

We are so proud of our students achievements and often receive thanks and that makes us even more proud of our staff too. We really appreciate students, parents and carers spending their time writing to us with feedback, and we have shared some with you below.....

The Year 9 virtual parents evening was well planned and professionally presented with good information given on how my child is progressing.

We, as a family, could not be happier with the way the school has dealt with all our queries. The support and encouragement received from staff at all levels has been so quick, so positive and so professional we cannot fail to be impressed. Would I recommend the school to other parents? Absolutely!

Mr Groak’s clear vision and values is evident and ensures we have trust in whatever the school does for my child.

Dear Mr Groak

I write to thank you firstly for last week’s Year 10 Parents Meeting, it was very informative and your passion for not only education but the happiness and wellbeing of the children really does shine through.

To be honest Mr Groak, this letter to yourself is well overdue and I have thought on many occasions about writing in to thank you for what you do, working in a school myself I know praise from Parent’s is often very limited.

Having experienced for myself my Eldest child who went to a different Secondary school and comparing the experience of my youngest Son’s journey through Hessle High they are somewhat different. Just your presence often in a morning and every evening is itself reassuring and a delight to see and I often wish to stop and provide you with an umbrella when I see you out there often in such dreadful conditions.

Throughout the Covid lockdown when my Son remained working at home, the contact from Mr Forrester was outstanding and the online learning was a credit to yourself and your team. Your frequent updates throughout lockdowns were always well received and made us still feel part of the school community.

I have also found that the new direct contact line with Mrs Todd the Head of Year 10 is very reassuring as a Parent and I must add that we feel blessed to have Mrs Todd selected as Head of Year throughout the remaining time of  my son's journey as she was previously his Head of House.

Your weekly Blog’s are always a highlight and are often relatable, we did laugh when you shared that you had punched the air when your Son got an assist against the Hessle football team. Wishing you a restful half term.

Stay safe. With very warmest wishes.

Dear Mr Groak
What a lovely letter that you have sent to the Y11 students, it moved me to tears.
Thank you for sending this. Wishing everyone at Hessle High the very best, stay safe everyone.

My son, has come home from school really buzzing about his day. He says it has been such a fantastic day and loved every minute. He loved showing others his chess set and how to play and making a tower out of paper straws!

I know it's been a different day for them today, but as it's part of children's mental health week I'm over the moon he's ended the week on a lovely day and had a much-needed break from screens. Thank you to all staff that are working hard during this difficult situation and for providing children at school and those at home an opportunity to have such a wonderful day.

Please pass this onto the Head and all staff.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all the teachers who have provided online learning to not only my son but every single child.  They have gone above and beyond and it is greatly appreciated.  The live lessons have been amazing and my son has thoroughly enjoyed being connected.  Thank you so much for helping to restore a part of normality back.

I wanted to thank you for the awards that my daughter, was given. They were very unexpected and much appreciated.

It is so nice to see a school who rewards effort and commitment and not merely academic excellence. It is very refreshing to see. In a society that unfortunately judges schools on the grades that students achieve, it is lovely to see a school that places a high value on other factors too.

I never expected my daughter to receive the Best All Rounder award and the words that you said about her were wonderful to hear. Thank you.

This is just to say a big thank you!!

We owe a huge thanks to Mrs Newman who's helpful calls and texts literally helped my daughter and myself out of a dark spot a few weeks ago and helped is turn the corner on home schooling.
Thank you to Mr Groak for your regular email updates and for always finding something uplifting for your weekly blog. After another week of doom & uncertainty, the smallest items of good news and hope really do make a difference.
And to all of the staff who really have worked tirelessly since last year, we have had nothing but praise for the speed and efficiency with which you transitioned to online learning and continue to support our children.
Wishing everyone the very best of relaxing half terms.

I wanted to thank you with all my heart the hard work and dedication each and everyone of you have showed over these uncertain times. Everyone has been thrown into situations that none of us would ever have to deal with normally.

My son has been an absolute gem, I have been going to work every day and he has got on and done his school work with no problems at all (well not many any way, he is a teenager after all). This could not have been achieved had it not been for everyone at Hessle High.

We live over in Barton and making the decision to come to Hessle High was a hard decision to make as he was leaving all his friends behind, this has made us realise more than ever that we made the right decision!

The daily updates from the Head have been very welcomed and made us feel involved and thought of, they have really made a difference.

So just to let you know, my son and I think you're all amazing! Thank you for everything you have done and will keep doing in these uncertain times.

Thanks again, on the few dealings I’ve have with the high school with yourself you’ve always been really responsive and helped straight away, just to let you know it’s appreciated.
